Hursut Meric was born in Amsterdam. He started playing for SDZ, an amateur club. He started his career firstly playing in amateur clubs like Blauw-Wit, AFC DWS and FC Türkiyemspor.

Later, he transferred to ADO Den Haag, one of the Dutch 1st League teams. He had the joy of playing in the 1st League again in his first season with his club, which had just fallen to the 2nd League when he was transferred. He scored the first league goal of his professional football career on September 18, 2007 against Helmond Sport. This goal was also the only goal of the match.

He was transferred to Genclerbirligi at the halftime of the 2008-2009 season. He continued to play in the top eleven regularly.
